A selection of Atari games unearthed in a landfill site in New Mexico earlier this year is being made available on eBay, with bidding due to close on November 14.
The Alamogordo city council is responsible for the listing and has plans to sell around 800 of the games, most of which are very rare.
A rumour that Atari had buried hundreds of unsold copies of ET: The Extra-Terrestrial (considered by many to be the worst game of all time) in a landfill site in 1983 had been circulating online for many years.
It was proven correct in April this year, when around 1,300 of the games were found.
