A brilliant Huffy Radiobike is one of the most exciting lots in Cowan's Auctions' 20th Century Art sale on November 7 in Ohio, providing bidders with the chance to emulate Pee-Wee Herman.
Produced in the mid 1950s, the bicycle was the ultimate item on the Christmas list of any child. Fitted with a three vacuum tube radio, its battery pack mounted to the rear carrier, it is expected to sell for just $600-800.
The Huffy Radiobike can be seen in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the 1985 Tim Burton film in which Pee-Wee Herman loses his beloved ride, leading him on a quest to find it. The tricked-out original appeared on eBay earlier this year at $25,300.
The example at auction is in great condition for its age, though is missing the headlamp bulb and shows signs of wear to the paintwork.
