The vintage movie poster collectibles market continues to go from strength to strength with news that an original 1942 "Casablanca" lobby card had become available to buy.
It's been decades since an original Casablanca card has come onto the market, with most lobby cards currently for sale dating to the film's 1950 re-release.

The card measures 11" x 14" and is also in excellent condition, with some minor markings on the corners.
Depicting a classic scene between Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre, the lobby card is for sale at a price of £1,600 ($2,500).
Collectibles relating to Casablanca continue to offer sound investments to collectors, thanks to the enduring and nostalgic appeal of what is considered one of the most popular films of all time.
But while Bogart played a huge part in creating that success, the enduring popularity of the film ultimately hinged on his onscreen chemistry with three-times Academy Award Winner Ingrid Bergman.
Today, a head and shoulders length black and white photograph of a still shot from Casablanca is also available. This piece offers a superb memento of the magic that Bergman and Bogart enjoyed onscreen.

Furthermore, the photograph is also autographed by Bergman and can be bought for just £1,950 ($3,200).
Measuring 5" x 7", this signed collectible is a relative bargain in the current movie memorabilia market. Especially when you consider the status of Casablanca in the history of modern cinema.
And with these collectibles available for under £10,000, this really could be the start of a beautiful friendship between investors and movie memorabilia.
