The Royal Mint struck an estimated 50,000-200,000 undated 20p pieces by mistake in 2008 but far fewer remain in circulation following the London Mint's £50 offer, making them highly sought after by investors.

It is the first undated British coin to emerge into circulation since 1672 and specimens could well exchange hands for significant sums in years to come.
