Turks Islands 1867 1d, 6d, 1s, set of three die proofs in black on India paper affixed to a card (1d 23x28mm, 6d and 1s each 29x33mm), SG1/3.
A very rare and beautiful set.
(N.B. Similar sets with slightly larger margins realised £11,500 and £5,980 in the November 1999 Ludington auction).
The first stamp of the Turks Islands was issued on 4 April 1867.
