A new wine-only online auction website will launch in September, offering buyers an easier way to purchase fine wines.

The site will face competition from top auction houses, many of which have recently launched online-only platforms, but hopes to triumph through ease of use and cheap prices

The Fat Grape site hopes to shake up the market, by offering wines for around 10-30% less than their current value. In addition, it will hold sales around the clock, enabling international bidders to play a bigger part.

London is used frequently by international wine auction houses, as its time zone is the most favourable for buyers from across the world.

The website will accept consignments from September 10, which the live launch expected on September 24.
