A bottle of Pol Roger 1914 Champagne is to auction for £3,000-4,000 ($4,843-6,458) at Bonhams' Fine Wine auction on October 23, with the proceeds to go to the Imperial War Museum in London.
The wine was a favourite of Winston Churchill and was famously described as being "harvested to the sound of gunfire, drunk to the sound of trumpets".

Richard Harvey MW, Bonhams' head of wine, commented: "It's a real pleasure to be selling this wine and for such a good cause…
"It's very rich but still dry, remarkably fresh and alive for a 100 year old wine.
"It could not be more closely associated with the Great War and it is fitting that the proceeds should go to support the fine new First World War galleries at the Imperial War Museum."
