Next week, McTears of Glasgow will be having another of their celebrated rare whisky sales, which always present some good opportunities for single malt Scotch collectors to pick up some entry level investments.
With over 700 lots going under the hammer including everything from Macallan to Glenlivet there are a number of opportunities for collectors to expand their collections. Some of the best include:
A Glencadam 25 year-old decanter distilled and bottled by Glencadam Distillery and of limited edition, (decanter number 44 of 1000) will sell with a listing of £1,000-1,400 in its original presentation box.
A Springbank Last Bottle Of The 20th Century 20 year-old bottled on December 20 1999 is likewise expected to bring £1,000-1,400. Distilled and bottled by J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Ltd at a private bottling for the Shareholders, Directors and Staff, it is one of just 57 bottles and still in its presentation box.

A six bottle set of Glenmorangie 1963 Pure Old Highland Whisky, aged 22 years, and finished in Spanish Oloroso casks for one further year all, carries and estimate of £3,000-4,000. Again, all remain in their original outer cartons.
Finally, there is something slightly different in the form of a Courvoisier Erte Collection, which is expected to bring £3,500-4,500 (up to $7,100).
All the bottles are distilled and bottled by Courvoisier. One bottle is missing from the selection and there is some minor damage to the labels, but would still make a worthy investment. McTear's auction takes place on January 25 in Glasgow and online.
