11 bottles of 1970 Henri Jayer Richebourg are expected to auction for £34,000 ($54,661) at Christie's London on July 17.

Jayer (1922-2006) is renowned for his transformation of the tiny Vosne-Romanee vineyard, which many would have considered not worth the effort, given its high altitude and poor soil.
Jayer's renowned Richebourg Pinot Noir, praised for its lusciousness and balance, was bottled in 1970, following Jayer's pioneering of several winemaking innovations.
In September 2012, 12 bottles of the 1985 Henri Jayer Echezeaux sold as top lot at Sotheby's, testament to its exceptional reputation.
