A single lot of four bottles of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild from the 1800s holds the highest estimate in Christie's June 28 auction of fine wine in Paris.
|
The lot includes one bottle each of the 1865, 1875, 1889 and 1890 vintages from the illustrious Bordeaux estate.
Valued at $53,070-79,604, all bottles have new capsules and new labels, as well as a certificate from the chateau.
A 12 bottle lot of the equally sought after 1982 vintage from Chateau Petrus will follow, with an estimate price of $46,436-72,971.
The market for Bordeaux looks to be finding its feet again after a poor performance in 2012, with the Liv-ex Bordeaux 500 reporting a 4.7% increase for the year to March.
