Stunning €1.5 million gold and diamond pendant glistens in Paris

Artcurial of Paris has released the results of its sale of luxury jewels and watches, which took place in Paris during last week of July.

Stealing the show was this sumptuous gold pendant adorned with a large pear-cut diamond weighing 55.34 carats.

Made from rose gold, the pendant diamond rests in a perforated 'basket' set with more brilliant cut diamonds. It sold with a certificate from the EGL lab attesting to the jewels' quality.

Weighing 43g, the stunning pendant hangs on a rose gold chain and appeared at Artcurial with an estimated value of €1,000,000-1,500,000.

As the 2010 jewellery markets continue to thrive in the face of economic downturn, this exceptional piece proved no exception and realised a final value of €1,147,336.

Artcurial's sale took place at the Hôtel Marcel Dassault in Paris.
