An exceptional 18k pink gold Patek Philippe pocket watch is set to lead Christie's Important Watches auction on June 11 in New York.

The watch, which is complete with its original presentation box and certificate, dates to 1898 and is even accompanied by the original receipt from its 1900 purchase. It is expected to sell for $1m-1.5m.
The watch is known as a Grand Complication due to the impressive amount of features it has. Until this watch was discovered, it was thought that Patek Philippe did not make its first Grand Complications until around 1910.
Sotheby's has also announced the lead lots of its New York Important Watches auction, which will take place on June 10.
