Writer Truman Capote's ashes are among the more unusual lots that will be offered at Julien's Auctions on September 23-24.

They're housed in a hand-carved Japanese box and are expected to make $4,000-6,000.
Capote (1924-1984) left his ashes to his close friend, the late Joanne Carson - wife of talk show host Johnny Carson.
Auctioneer Darren Julien told Vanity Fair: "I am sure people are going to think this is disrespectful, but this is a fact: Truman Capote loved the element of shock.
"He loved publicity. And I'm sure he's looking down laughing and saying 'That's something I would have done.'"
