A scale model of the Lake Windemere steam launch Branksome (1896) is among the stars of Bonhams' Gentleman's Library sale on January 19.

The Branksome is a celebrated steam launch

The original Branksome was commissioned for a Mrs Edina Howarth and made its maiden voyage as the Lily.

It has carried a range of dignitaries over the decades, including Prince Charles and Prince Philip.

This 1:12 size model was built by Keith Townsend, a master model-maker whose work is in very high demand.
