Porthole to outer space sells for $4,560

Waddington's 20th Century Design auction, on March 31, featured a number of exceptional pieces of space memorabilia.

Among the items to exceed their estimates was a porthole flown on the Russian Space Program's Soyuz TM-33.

The Descent Module Polarized Observation Porthole (Port View), with multilayered high temperature glass with heat resistant composite and titanium alloy, had an estimate of $3,000/4,000.

It eventually sold for $4,560.
