An Apollo 11 space-flown flag complete with autographs from all three crew members has seen excellent results as part of Nate D Sanders' latest online auction, which closed on July 23.
![]() Neil Armstrong's autograph has risen in value by 26% between 2011 and 2012, propelled by collectors wishing to commemorate the life of the first man on the Moon |
The final bids of $47,652 came just three days after the anniversary of Apollo 11's Moon landing on July 20, 1969.
The four inch by six inch flag was flown into space aboard the historic mission and subsequently mounted on an official NASA certificate, which reads: "This flag travelled to the Moon with Apollo 11, the first manned lunar landing, July 20, 1969".
The certificate bears autographs in felt pen from Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, though Armstrong's signature - the most valuable of the three - is considerably faded.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has some fantastic space memorabilia for sale, including autographs from each of the Apollo 11 crew and a complete set of signed photographs from each of the 12 Moonwalkers.
We also have this very special item from Neil Armstrong.
