Robert A Seigel Auction Galleries' United States stamps online auction began yesterday, and continues into tomorrow afternoon (Friday, December 18).
Today's third and fourth bidding sessions include stamps from the 1893 Columbian Issue (1c through to $5.00).
A major highlight will be the 50c Columbian. The plate number 77 block of eight stamps comes with its original gum, and is fresh and exceptionally well centred.

The desirable and rare plate number block of eight - far more scarce than a block of six - will be sent to auction valued at $30,000.
According to Seigel, only eight such plate blocks exist.
With a number of similarly rare and sought-after lots passing under the auctioneer's hammer today and tomorrow, the sale is unmissable for philatelists.
The third bidding session began today at 10:30am; session four starts at 1:30pm; and the fifth session (including 1894 Unwatermarked Bureau Issue stamps) will conclude the sale tomorrow (Friday, December 18) at 10:30am.
