Prince’s handwritten speech for the 1993 Brit Awards has achieved $35,129 at RR Auction.
It was expected to sell for in excess of $2,500, a figure it beat by 1,305%.
Prince has replaced 'I' with drawings of eyes
The lot is addressed to singer Kylie Minogue, who read the acceptance out on his behalf.
It reads: “Dear Kylie, please read this note in acceptance 4 the Best International Artist Award—Thank u! P.S.—In all my trips abroad, I can honestly say, I've never felt very far from home.
“As long as I live and there is an appreciation of what I do, I will continue to do...my best. Peace and New Power, Prince.”
Prince memorabilia has been growing exponentially in value since his death, with his iconic Yellow Cloud guitar selling for $137,000 against a $30,000 estimate last year.
