Lennon began wearing his trademark round glasses during the 1960s

Lennon gave the glasses to his housekeeper Dorothy Jarlett in 1965, after she told him that her brother was going to a fancy dress party.

Paul Fairweather of Omega Auctions commented: "What's nice is that they also come with a really strong story. There have been glasses of Lennon's sold before but none have ever had a story as strong as this one."

The auction will include the original deed to Manchester's legendary Hacienda nightclub.
