An April 5-6 Hollywood auction of movie memorabilia is to star the original laser rifle used by William Shatner in Star Trek.
Used in the second pilot episode of the legendary TV show, the rifle is expected to sell for $40,000-60,000. It predates the more famous "phaser" that is more commonly employed in the show and is a bespoke prop made especially at the request of creator Gene Rodenberry.
Sharing this estimate is the 1965 Imperial Crown car, nicknamed Black Beauty, which the Green Hornet and his sidekick Kato drove in the 2011 movie. Also starring is the five-piece Kato costume worn by Jay Chou, which is expected to sell for $8,000-10,000, complete with the chauffeur cap and mask.
The top lot of the sale, however, is one of the original genie bottles used on the first season of the 1960s TV show I Dream of Jeannie, which holds an estimate of $60,000-80,000. Known as the Original Golden Vines Bottle, it is number two of six made by artist Robert Purcell and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from star of the show Larry Hagman.
The sale also provides a great opportunity to own Marilyn Monroe's cocktail dress at a reasonable price, with a light brown wool dress by Jax expected to sell at $5,000-7,000. The dress was originally part of the Property from the Estate of Marilyn Monroe sale held in Los Angeles in 2005.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a range of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia for sale, including signed photographs, autographs and authentic strands of her hair. We also have this fantastic high school photograph taken of the young star in 1941.
