A Star Wars-branded Palitoy plastic bag realised a whopping £240 ($305) in a sale at Vectis Auctions in November.

Palitoy produced the earliest Star Wars toys released in the UK

It beat an estimate of £40 ($50) by 500%.

The lot features a rare The Empire Strikes Back logo, which made it the subject of a frenzied bidding war among collectors.  

Palitoy produced the first Star Wars toys issued in the UK, which sell for tens of thousands of dollars today. The record is £18,000 ($22,934), set for a Boba Fett figurine last year.

Empty Palitoy-branded cardboard boxes have sold for similarly large sums, with one recently making £160 ($203) at Vectis.
