While the upsurge in Chinese investors in the collectibles sector has been well documented, memorabilia of one of the country's most famous figures may have slipped your attention - that of Bruce Lee.
Interest in the Chinese-American actor's collectibles has been building of late, and alternative investors with an eye on some unique diversity would do well to consider him for their portfolios.
A fur-lined jacket created for the film Lee was working on at the time of his death in 1973, Game of Death, almost quadrupled its $19,200 estimate with a $76,850 showing at a Hong Kong auction in August 2011.
A 1966 handwritten signed letter from Lee to friend Taky Kimura, stating that Lee was "looking forward for the TV series of 'Green Hornet' to come out so that Gung Fu will catch on", sold for $51,233 at the same sale, 33.3% up on its high end estimate.
The actor's autograph has risen by 17.12% pa in value between 2000 and 2011, from £1,750 ($2,740) to £9,950 ($15,600), according to the PFC40 Autograph Index.
