Former Manchester United and England footballer Nobby Stiles wasn't the only legend to score tens of thousands at Convery Auctions recent sale of Stiles' memorabilia, in Edinburgh.
Alan Ball (1945-2007, pictured top right) played alongside Stiles in the 1966 England squad's Word Cup final victory - and also happened to be the youngest player on the team.

The midfielders swapped shirts following the 4-2 victory against West Germany - and Everton player Ball's shirt remained in 68-year-old Stiles' collection ever since. It sold for £51,755 in Convery's auction.
Elsewhere in the sale, Stiles' former World Cup winning medal was bought by his former club, Manchester United, for a record-breaking £188,200. You can read our full report on the sale here.
