A Chung-engraved 12-sidelock ejector gun by J Purdey & Sons is valued at £30,000-40,000 ($48,222-64,296) ahead of Bonhams' Modern Sporting Guns Auction in London.
The gun, produced in 2005, features a single trigger with a rolled edge guard and bold foliate-scroll engraving. The maker's signature is inlaid in gold on the lockplates and forend.

Founded by James Purdey in 1814, J Purdey & Sons is among the world's foremost luxury gun manufacturers.
Its customers have included royalty - Queen Victoria reputedly bought a pair of pistols in 1838 - and the company still retains warrants from various members of the present day royal family.
A .375 "Royal" sidelock ejector rifle built by Holland & Holland (H&H) in 1961 also carries an estimate of £30,000-40,000 ($48,222-64,296).

Founded by Harris Holland in 1835, the company has consistently set the bar for high-end guns.
In 1922, it patented the H&H assisted opening mechanism, which represented a giant leap forward in the development of the rifle.
Its customers have included members of the British royal family and the explorer Frederick Selous - who was the real-life inspiration behind H Rider Haggard's Alan Quatermain.
During the early 1990s, an H&H double rifle belonging to Teddy Roosevelt realised $550,000 at a US auction.
