A collection of memorabilia from a midshipman who served in the Battle of Trafalgar will highlight Sworders' Fine Art Auctioneers' November 19 sale in the UK.

The collection, valued at £10,000-15,000 ($16,000-24,000), relates to William Martin, who served on board the HMS Minotaur during 1805's Battle of Trafalgar. It includes a miniature portrait of a young Martin with a photograph of him as an elderly man, as well as his General Service Medal with Trafalgar clasp.
"This is a fabulous snapshot of military history with three pieces so closely linked to him and his service at the Battle of Trafalgar," commented auction house director John Black.
"It is quite unusual to have pieces such as this offered for sale together and we're hoping this single lot will ensure that the record of William Martin stays intact."
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a wonderful selection of Lord Nelson memorabilia for sale, including the fantastic Trafalgar Collection.
