A pair of Colt Single Action Army revolvers that were presented to President Ronald Reagan are expected to see strong bids in Rock Island Auction Company's (RIA) Premiere Firearms Auction, set for December 6-8 in Illinois.

The guns were presented to the president by famed Hollywood firearm adviser and quick draw artist Arvo Ojala (1920-2005) in 1981 - the year of Reagan's election. They are estimated at $150,000-250,000.
The two revolvers are third generation Colt Single Action Army .45 models. Accompanying them is an exquisitely tooled leather presentation holster rig, and a gold and silver belt buckle that bears Reagan's name and the presidential seal.
A letter thanking Ojala for his gift will be included, with the president writing: "There are no words to properly express my appreciation for the magnificent gift of the belt, holsters and pistols so beautifully displayed in that case. I know you described what you were planning, but I had no idea that it would be so spectacular and handsome".

Also featuring is a letter from Colt vice president DW Davis to Ojala, which reads: "I was pleased to learn that you were able to meet with President Reagan and present him with the two Single Auction .45's (serial numbers 44102 and 44103) that you ordered from us."
Ojala and Reagan became friends in Hollywood, during the president's previous career as an actor.
