Batterman's of Arizona's Firearms, Antiques and Fine Furnishings sale, last Sunday (March 7), featured a range of militaria, World War Two memorabilia, pocket watches and other collectibles among its lots.
The biggest sale was a 19th century 45 caliber sporting rifle, built by the famous Sharps Rifle Manufacturing Company (1851-1881).
This Borchardt Patent Sharps single shot hammerless Rifle, designed by Hugo Borchardt, would have been made after 1878.

The barrel is stamped "cal 45 2 1/10","Old Reliable...Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport Conn," in reference to the state of Connecticut where it was built.
Featuring a 30" round barrel, Vernier target sight and crisply chequered walnut stock, the gun was in excellent condition save a few minor use dents.
The historic rifle shot to a final hammer price of $3,500.
Also for sale at Batterman's is a presentation Gold Damascened Colt Police revolver. Most likely engraved in Toledo, Spain, the unique Colt is for sale priced $18,000.
