Look for serial numbers beginning AA01

The lot was one of the few low serial number specimens in circulation. Others on the site are selling for sums around the £100-200 ($129-259) mark.

Our British readers should keep an eye out for notes with serial numbers beginning AA01, as these are from the first printing and are highly sought after by collectors.

Spink is even holding a dedicated auction of low numbered modern banknotes on October 3.
