Collectors will have a chance to do just that at Scotsman Auction Co's upcoming October 15 auction.
Among the historic numismatic treasures for sale is a Morgan dollar set, complete except for the 1895 proof. The collection will appear for sale housed in a Dansco coin album.
And don't let it be said that the consignor of this collection wasn't thorough...
Apparently unhappy with the Dansco album's failure to properly represent the collection's 1878 rarities, the collector re-lettered the entire album by hand to include the 1878 7TF and 1878 7/8 TF coins.
The resulting collection is a must-see for all collectors with an interest in the Morgan dollar.
Among its highlights is an 1893-S which has been independently certified as VF-20 (that's 'very fine') by the PCGS, which is a testament to the collection's overall quality.

According to Scotsman's lot notes, very few of the coins are in low grade and appear alongside a few BU specimens, which overall add-up to a fascinating and comprehensive collection.
(For the uninitiated, a BU coin - or 'Brilliant Uncirculated' - is a coin that has never been circulated, and retains all of its original mint luster.)
Other major highlights include the following: 1879-CC (F), 1880-CC (F), 1881-CC (VG), 1884-CC (MS-60), 1885-CC (VG), 1888-S (VF), 1889-CC (VG), 1890-CC (XF), 1892-CC (VG), 1893 (VG), 1893-CC (AU/cleaned), 1893-S (PCGS VF-20), 1893-O (VG), 1894 (G/scratched), 1895-O (G), 1895-S (VF), 1899 (F), 1902-S (VF), 1903-O (VG), and 1903-S (F).
The collection carries an estimate of $10,000-12,000. At the time of writing, bids currently stand at $8,750.
