Mecum follows its $1.25m Corvette L88 car sale with a 1962 classic

Car collectors are invited to consign motors to Mecum Auctions' forthcoming St Charles, Illinois, car auction scheduled for September 16-19.

Among the sales' projected highlights is this fully-restored 1962 Corvette: an original matching numbers car equipped with a fuel-injected injected 327/360 HP small block engine and four-speed transmission.

According to Mecum, the automobile's other features include a Wonderbar radio, power windows and auxiliary hard top.

Newly finished in Roman Red with a Black interior, the 1962 Corvette is presently fitted with American Torque Thrust wheels. The original stock wheels and hubcaps also accompany the car.

Interested buyers and investors will be pleased to know that the car is well-documented, with restoration records and receipts as well as the complete owner history. It will be sold with the original keys and owner's manual.

Mecum will undoubtedly be hoping to continue the success enjoyed at its Monterey Sale, earlier this month.

Highlights at the auction included a 1967 Corvette L88 Convertible, sold for $1,250,000 (following on from RM Auctions' blockbuster sale of two L88s earlier this year).

Also among the star cars was a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta which cruised off the auction block valued at a whopping $1,250,000.
