Last ever L88 Corvette to be offered in important classic car show
The last Corvette L88 to be produced will sell at a five-day classic car auction in May

The last Chevrolet Corvette L88 to roll off the production line will star among a series of important classic American cars on May 15-20, 2012.
L88 refers to the engine of the Corvette. Produced in 1968, the powerful engine was as close to a racing engine as Chevrolet has ever offered in regular production. Advertised at 430bhp the legendary engine was said to be closer to 560bhp. This model, a Fathom Green coupe, has been lovingly restored by Thorpe's Body and Corvette Shop, whose owner Tim Thorpe is a renowned preservation expert. It comes with a complete owner history and is documented with the build sheet. The car is joined by another Corvette L88, this time a convertible. The modernised car has been fully restored using all NOS parts and has been inducted into the Bloomington Gold Earthquake L88 and L88 Invasion Special Collections, as well as being awarded the NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) Top Flight Award.A 1967 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro is set to outstrip its competitors at the US auction. The Butternut Yellow is one of 50 first year Yenko Camaros, a legendary line of muscle cars. Documentation includes the original handwritten invoice and Yenko window sticker. The show will also see two drag racing legends, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and "TV" Tommy Ivo selling dragsters from their private collection. Prudhomme will offer a record breaking 1982 Pontiac Trans Am "Pepsi Challenger" while Ivo is set to auction his 1974 Streamline Top Fuel Dragster.Paul Fraser Collectibles is offering a great selection of racing memorabilia here.
