A rare Alfa Romeo 1750 is set to star at an RM Auctions US sale in March.
The car is expected to achieve at least $1.1m when it appears at the pre-war sports car event in Amelia Island on March 12.
Alfa Romeo built just 2,579 1750s between 1929 and 1933 and very few of the top end GS variety, making this vehicle highly collectible and a potentially successful investment.
Alfa Romeo was the dominant force in motorsport during the 1920s and 1930s due in large part to the 1750, which gained the first four places at Mille Miglia in 1929.
This vehicle, chassis number 8513064, has an 85 bhp, 1,752 cc supercharged DOHC inline six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox.

The car, which has a top speed of almost 95 mph, carries distinctive Zagato bodywork and is in good condition.
The 8513064 has a distinguished racing history, including a fourth place in the Monterey Historics at Laguna Sec in 1985 and three successful Mille Miglia Storicas.
Its ownership since the 1960s is well documented, having passed through many hands. A previous owner, Keith Hellon, devoted a chapter to the car in his book Cars I Could've, Should've Kept.
The vehicle achieved $879,200 at an RM Auctions event in 2010, significantly down on the $1.26 price garnered in 2008 through Gooding & Company.
This RM Auctions sale has already been attracting interest for the emergence of a 1952 Ferrari Mexico Berlinetta, one of only three ever made.
