A 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Edition was the star lot of Silverstone Auctions' May 20 sale.
|
It realised £241,875 ($351,151).
The Countach was released in 1974 and immediately became the archetypal sports car of its era.
For this special edition, the company drafted in Horatio Pagani (who would go on to create the Pagani Zonda) to soup up the classic design.
Pagani altered the bodywork and engine substantially, pushing the car's top speed up to 185mph.
