People have different ways of getting over past relationships. But publicly auctioning a naked portrait of yourself while eight months pregnant, painted by a man once described as "the greatest living realist painter," is certainly a unique way of going about it.
Yet we're not talking about 'ordinary' people here. The seller is model and actress Jerry Hall, the relationship was with philandering Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, and the artist is the uncompromising Lucian Freud, grandson of Sigmund.

The artist and model reportedly met at a dinner party. The resulting work, Eight Months Gone, was painted in 1997 while Hall was pregnant with her fourth child, Gabriel.
Naturally, Freud isn't the only famous friend in Hall's collection. Also auctioning is Dollar Sign by Andy Warhol, gifted to Hall after she helped the pop artist with his avant garde television show, Warhol TV.

In total, 14 works from Hall's collection will be going under the hammer with total sales expected to reach £1.5 million ($2.3 million). Frank Auerbach, David Bailey and Damien Hirst are also among the artists going under the hammer.
The Jerry Hall collection will be auctioned by Sotheby's on October 15 and 16.
