A sketch of Coleorton Hall by esteemed British artist John Constable is to auction at Bonhams London on July 3.
The landscape sketch, which has not appeared on the market for over 50 years, is expected to garner a great deal of interest among serious collectors.

Although presale estimates are yet to be made public, a comparable Constable sketch of a girl reading sold for £18,750 ($29,063) at Christie's London in July 2012.
Though the sketch is undated, it is believed to have been completed in 1823, when Constable was staying at Coleorton Hall, Leicestershire, UK.
On November 18, 1823, Constable wrote to his wife, Maria: "I send you a hasty note…all that morning I had been engaged on a little sketch in Miss Southey's album…"
It is likely that this passage refers to the sketch in question.
