One of the highlights will be a still life from Cornelis (Kees) van Dongen, aged just 14 years. The work, entitled Still Life with Pheasant, was previously part of the Dolly van Dongen collection and has been exhibited as part of a Van Dongen exhibition at the Modern Art Museum in Paris.

Van Dongen is best known for his portraits, which were colourful and striking - even garish.
Nothing of that is present in this work, but the Dutch painter has already mastered the dramatic lighting inherited from Rembrandt, and a fascination with textures is also clear in the cut and gilding of the jug.
Later he would gain the confidence to use the loud and bright colours of Fauvism. The Still Life is expected to achieve €30,000-50,000 ($71,000).

One portrait painted by an artist who had reached his mature style is Portrait of Teresa by Moise Kisling. Whilst Kisling's style in landscape painting has been compared to Marc Chagall, he was most celebrated for his surreal nudes and portraits.
This oil on panel work is from the collection of celebrated Czech writer journalist Emile Synek, and has been authenticated by Jean Kisling. It is expected to achieve €20,000-30,000.
