Hermes pigskin leather trunk to headline at Christie's

A rare Hermes pigskin leather trunk is to headline Christie's Ski Sale in London on January 22 with an estimate of £60,000-80,000 ($99,000-132,000).

Produced in 1922, soon after the company had branched out from making saddles for the Russian royal court, the wardrobe trunk features drawers on one side and hanging space on the other.

It was purchased by a wealthy Texan who was honeymooning in Paris and used it only once.

It comes equipped with brass handles and a flip-top lid, along with its original hangers.
