A bronze bust of Winston Churchill is the headline lot of an auction at Sworders in Essex, UK on April 12.
|
It's valued at £60,000-80,000 ($83,969-111,958).
The enormous piece stands at close to a metre tall and was cast in 1971, in preparation for the statue in London's Parliament Square.
It was designed by Ivor Roberts Jones, onetime head of Goldsmiths University's sculpture department, and was inspired by a photograph of Churchill inspecting bomb damage in 1941.
We have this fascinating group of letters from Winston Churchill for sale.
