An Ancient Egyptian sarcophagus lid found in a house clearance has sold for £12,000 ($19,493) at Willinhgham Auctioneers in Cambridge, UK - an increase of 500% on an estimate of £2,000 ($3,248).
However, the September 13 sale has sparked protests from the Egyptian embassy, who argue that the piece was stolen from Egypt.

A spokesperson for the embassy commented: "We tried to encourage the auction house to convince the family that we are keen to repatriate it to its country of origin.
"We wanted them to give it up voluntarily but unfortunately they refused."
