An official Royal pardon signed by Queen Elizabeth II on August 13, 1959.
Signed prominently by the queen in the upper border in fountain pen.
The document itself is in fine condition, with a single horizontal fold, and measures 8 x 12.5 inches.
It's housed in a vintage frame, double-glazed with a window backing to display both sides, to an overall size of 9.75 x 14.25 inches.
The document was issued to “Our Justices for the Petty Sessional Division of Stamford,” pardoning Derek John Roberts, who was convicted in April 1957 of an offence against section 12 of the Road Traffic Act” (driving without due care).
The pardon officially remits his fine of £5.
An unusual conversation piece for any British history or Royal memorabilia collection.
