Prince Edward Island 1862-69 4d black on yellowish toned wove, perforations 11½-12, complete sheet of 30 (5x6), SG16.
A very fine quality mint sheet with original gum (most stamps are unmounted mint). Two pieces of selvedge at top separated and rejoined (not apparent), still very fine.
Interesting piece showing the numerous constant plate flaws, including 'FOUP' at R4/4.
A rare survival and the first time we have ever seen a complete sheet from this original printing.
The Stanley Gibbons catalogue value is £960+.
Prince Edward Island was previously administered as part of Novia Scotia until it became a separate colony in 1769.
