Stan Laurel (1890 - 1965) and Oliver Hardy (1892 - 1957) are one of the most iconic on-screen comedy duos of all time.
Together they starred in more than 100 films during a 28-year career, during the Golden Age of Hollywood comedy. They remain highly popular to this day, with millions of fans around the world, and have influenced generations of comedians.
A vintage 1930s matte-finish publicity photograph of Laurel & Hardy.
The photo is in fine condition, and measures 13.5" by 10.5". This larger format is much more uncommon than the standard 7" by 5" or 10" by 8" studio publicity photographs of the period.
The classic portrait was taken by Clarence 'Stax' Graves, the official photographer for Hal Roach Studios where the duo first teamed up and became stars.
Both men have signed in crisp fountain pen ink next their respective portraits.
Stan Laurel has also added an inscription "Our kind thoughts always Elma & Fred, sincerely." with a double-sided arrow pointing at the pair.
Professionally mounted in a glazed frame measuring 23" by 20".
A large, visually impressive display piece for your classic Hollywood collection.
