J.K Rowling (1965 -) is an English author, screenwriter, producer and philanthropist.
Rowling is the creator of the Harry Potter series of children's novels, which to date has sold a record 400 million copies worldwide.
The seven best-selling books have since spawned a series of blockbuster Hollywood movies, video games, several theme park attractions, and an empire of merchandise worth an estimated $25 billion.
Rowling has also found success and critical acclaim as an author of adult fiction, with her 2012 book The Casual Vacancy and a series of three 'Cormorant Strike' detective novels, written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
Aside from her literary career, Rowling has also been praised for her philanthropic work, and has raised tens of millions for good causes including Comic Relief and her own children's charity Lumos.
This Harry Potter Hogwarts Express postcard is signed by J.K Rowling in black ink, and bears her official authentication hologram on the reverse.
It features the same artwork as the first book in the series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, copies of which have been known to sell for tens of thousands of pounds.
In good condition, with some staining to the lower white border.
The postcard is accompanied by a personalised letter on 'By Owl Post' headed paper, complete with Rowling's printed signature.
