Great Britain 1966 4d–1s3d 900th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, SG705/12pvar – Imperforate Imprimaturs
An exceptional unmounted mint marginal set of eight imperforate imprimaturs from the 1966 Battle of Hastings commemorative issue, including the 4d se-tenant strip of six, 6d, and 1s3d values.
Each stamp is printed with phosphor bands and bears the official “BPMA” (British Postal Museum & Archive) handstamp on the reverse, verifying its imprimatur status.
The designs are inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry and commemorate the 900th anniversary of the Battle of Hastings.
Exceptional provenance as they were released from the British Postal Museum Archives in 2014. Prior to this they were stored in the museum archives in climate controlled vaults since being printed and are therefore in uncirculated mint condition.
