Great Britain 1883 ½d–1s “Lilac and Green” Unified Issue, SG187/96var – “CANCELLED” Type 14
An exceptional and rare archival set from the Victorian period.
A very fine unused, with original gum, set of ten stamps, ranging from ½d to 1s, each overprinted "CANCELLED" (Type 14). These striking examples originate from the De La Rue archives and were produced for official reference purposes.
Though a couple of stamps show the usual minor perforation faults, this remains a very rare and highly desirable set.
It is believed that no more than six sets exist, making this set a key Victorian rare assembly.
