Great Britain 1841 1d red brown Plate 132 Imprimatur, SG8.
A superb example with four clear to large margins, lettered 'PF'.
Very scarce printing from the first approved printing sheet. One of only 21 possible examples from this printing plate, many of which reside in institutional collections.
Plate 132 was one of the final plates used in the line-engraved era before the change to perforated stamps in 1854. Imprimaturs are of immense historical and academic interest, showcasing the clarity of detail and state of the plate before commercial use and wear.
Accompanied with a 2004 Royal Philatelic Society (RPS) Certificate of Authenticity.
Provenance: Ex. The Royal Philatelic Collection, providing exceptional prestige and historical significance.
