Great Britain 1841 1d red brown "Archer" plate 95, SG8.
A very fine used good to huge four margin block of fifteen lettered CB-GD, each stamp neatly cancelled by a Bristol "134" numeral. Some minor wrinkling as to be expected, nevertheless a magnificent multiple.
1d red brown printing plate numbers 92 to 101 are often referred to as "Archers" because all (except this plate 95) were used by Henry Archer, and Irish-born London businessman in his experimental perforating.
An exceptional piece as blocks of this size are rarely found in this quality. An attractive exhibition item.
Accompanied with an independent certificate of authenticity from the highly regarded expertiser Martin Eichele, Basel.
GB Specialised Catalogue No: BS81.
