Superb used example sent from London to Newport Pagnell, neatly cancelled by a crisp strike of a red MC with a "T.P./Oxford St.W.O." handstamp in black alongside and a red I.ondon’ octagonal datestamp on reverse for MY.8.1840. A very rare early "May Date" Mulready which opens up well for display.
