A rare error as only 3 sheets totalling 180 stamps originally existed (with surcharge at left).
Issued as part of the 1971 decimal currency changeover, when existing definitive stamps were overprinted with decimal values pending the release of a new definitive series. This dramatic error resulted from the 5p surcharge being applied to the 1½d 'Pig Vine' stamp instead of the intended 6d value
