Cyprus 1928 50th Anniversary set of 10 to £1, overprinted "SPECIMEN." (type B8, only used for this issue), SG123s/32s.
A fine and fresh mint set with original gum. Some gum yellowing as often the case, with odd minor blemishes (bends, 1½pi with thin spot), but overall very attractive appearance.
A scarce and sought after pictorial set from King George V's reign issued to commemorate 50 years of British rule.
"SPECIMEN" examples were used solely by postal administrations for reference purposes to help spot any attempted forgeries.
